Westlake Park reopens after $4 mil. remodel

Westlake Park has reopened after a long-planned redesign led by Seattle Parks and Recreation and the Seattle Parks Foundation.

The remodel demolished the park’s original 1988 fountain and arch, replacing it with new planters, landscaping and vehicle barriers using crash-rated bollards.  The $4 mil. renovation also includes electrical upgrades and improvements to the stage.

Just in time for FIFA

The construction barriers will be removed just in time as Seattle prepares to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup this summer.
